I worked for many years within the education sector at Victoria University and The Correspondence School and from 1995 to the end of 2001 was employed by communications and public relations company, Awaroa Partners, formerly JM Communications.

The roles I had at Victoria University were of a secretarial nature. At The Correspondence School I was coordinator of the wordprocessing unit.

As editorial assistant at Awaroa Partners I was responsible for applying strict quality control measures to written documents generated by both consultants and clients. My task was to proof and edit these documents and to ensure the formatting complied with our house styles.
